Hitting my first Five challenge site on the new Tiger. Bonneville Point, Swan Falls, Barbar Flat, Pioneer Cemetery and Thorn Butte LO

Finally got back into town, and picked up my bandanna for this years Challenge.  So it was time to get the Tiger out, and get it dirty.

First trip took me out to Bonneville point, and then down to Swan Falls Dam. After leaving the dam I decided to work my way over to Pleasant Valley Road.

After hitting these first two sites, I decided to call it a day, since I haven't really gotten into shape for wrangling this new bigger bike in the tougher stuff.

So I decided to get back at it today, and had Barbar Flat Cabin, Pioneer Cemetery, and Thorn Butte Lookout on my list.  I ended up heading up Arrowrock and cutting over the ridge to Barbar Flat, the road over the ridge was solid level 3 with some level 4.  The one thing I can say is the Tiger jumps the water diversion swales quite nicely.

From Barbar Flat, I headed in to Idaho City to get fuel, have some lunch and hit the Pioneer Cemetery.  I still had some energy left so decided to head back up to Thorn Butte Lookout.

Luckily most of the snow was melted off, although there were some snowy spots to cross or dodge.  But I made it up none-the-less.

After hitting the LO, I decided to head down Bald Mountain Road towards Cottonwood Creek.  The flowers were out in force in the hills.

When I got to Cottonwood, I could head back towards Arrowrock, or towards US21, I decided I'd head towards US 21 and burn up some pavement home.

Unfortunately the road had other ideas.

I finally had to turn around when the option was a super sketchy single track traverse, taking the low road down the middle of the creek and probably having to turn around anyway, or just turning around.  Since I was by myself, I decided I'd head back to Arrowrock and head home.

The day of Level 3-4 riding built my confidence in this Tiger tremendously, if it had a set of decent dual sport tires it would be even more of an animal.

Now I have to figure out where I am headed next.
