Ride Description:

The plan is to meet at 9:00 am in Nyssa, OR at Bob's Steak & Spirits for a bite to eat before we head out  to ride the desert to Crystal Crane Hot Springs in Crane, OR.

From Nyssa we will ride 10 miles of pavement to the start of the dirt.  The next 130miles are dirt with 6 miles of pavement at the end to the hot springs.  Bring something for lunch to eat on the trail.  There is a gas station, store, cafe in one building at Crane.  We will eat dinner at the cafe.  They close at 7:00 pm PST.  Depending on our time of arrival we can check out some things that are within 30 miles if we have time.

Pete French Round Barn

Malheur Cave

We will stay overnight at Crystal Crane Hot Springs.  They have a tent camping area or they have small cabins for rent.  If you are going to stay in a cabin be sure and call to make a reservation. As of today 3-1-10 all the cabins are available, but the lady I talked to said they will fill up fast.  I will be sleeping in my tent. The hot springs is fabulous and unlimited access is included with your overnight accomodations.  They have a camp kitchen that has a stove you can use to make coffee/breakfast in the morning.  Sunset is 7:15 pm PST.  Sunrise is 6:46 am PST.

Sunday morning we will hit the road at 9:00 am MST, 8:00 am PST.   Bring something to eat for breakfast at camp and lunch on the trail. We will head southeast towards Malheur Cave and check that out if we didn't get to the previous day.  Then on to Crowley Road , Antelope Flat Road and follow the west side of Owyhee Reservoir back to Nyssa. About 160 miles for today.  This is the longest distance between gas stations.

Pretty easy roads for the most part on this route.  Some rocky spots, ruts, etc.  This is some pretty remote country, so make sure your bike is prepared, reliable and have stuff for fixing a flat, water, etc.

Also I don't see a place to specify maximum number of participants like the old site, so I will set that at 9.
