Ride Description:

This is an ambitious ~340 mile one-day loop to pick up the challenge sites in three counties.  We will visit Trinity Lakes, Carrietown, and Red Cloud Mine in Elmore, Camas , and Blaine counties respectively, as well as each of their courthouses.  All the roads should be paved or good gravel (level two) with the exception of the last 1.75 miles into Red Cloud Mine, which is a two track (probably somewhere between a level two and three).  Mainly, what makes this a level three ride is the distance covered in the time allotted requiring us to move at a fairly brisk pace.

Leaving from the Trolley House (1821 Warm Springs Avenue, Boise, ID 83712), we will procede up Blacks Creek through Prairie to Trinity Lakes and then down through Featherville along Baumgartner Road up Carrie Creek to Carrietown near Dollarhide Summit.  From there we will travel down Warm Springs Creek Road into Ketchum and take Highway 75 toward Hailey and turn off Deer Creek Road to Red Cloud Mine.  From there we will visit the county courthouses in Hailey, Fairfield and Mountain Home.  If everyone has already visited these courthouses, we can ommit them, thus cutting some distance and time off of our route.

From Tollgate Hill on Highway 20 (or Mountain Home) we will take Immigrant Road through Mayfield back to Blacks Creek, and if time permits, ride some of the old Oregon Trail from Bonneville Point to Highway 21 near Micron (another level three section ~3 miles long).

We will leave from the Trolley House at 8:00 AM.  If you wish to have breakfast there, please arrive no later than 7:00 AM since they are busy and their service is somewhat slow.  Because of the distances we will be traveling, please plan to bring a lunch and snacks with you since we will not be planning on stopping for a sit-down restaurant type of lunch.  Sorry, but we will not have time.
