Ride Description:

If you are interested in picking up some serious Challenge Sites in central and eastern Idaho, then this is the ride for you.  We will visit 28 Challenge Sites in 16 counties in 4 days covering about 1,100 miles.

We will visit the following counties in this order:  Elmore, Gooding, Lincoln, Butte, Bingham Bonnevillle, Jefferson, Madison, Teton, Freemont, Clark, Lemhi, Custer, Valley, Boise, and Ada.  We will visit the courthouses in all of these counties except Bingham, Valley, and Ada.  We will visit all the off-road sites in these counties with the exception of Elmore (Trinity Lakes).

Most of the roads (pavement and off-road) should be level two.  The roads into Black Ridge Crater and up the east side of Big Windy are level three.  (The west side of Big Windy is a level four, but we will not be riding it.)

Day 1:  (Boise to Arco - 256 miles)  We will visit 7 Challenge Sites in Elmore, Gooding, Lincoln, and Butte counties.  We will stay at the DK Motel in Arco [(208) 527-8282].

Day 2:  (Arco to Ashton - 266 miles)  We will visit 10 Challenge Sites in Bingham, Bonneville, Jefferson, Madison, Teton, and Freemont counties.  We will stay at the Rankin Motel in Ashton [(208) 652-3570].

Day 3:  (Ashton to Salmon - 289 miles)  We will visit 5 Challenge Sites in Freemont, Clark, and Lemhi counties.  We will stay at the Bear Country Inn in Salmon [(208) 756-1499].

Day 4:  (Salmon to Boise - 292 miles)  We will visit 6 Challenge Sites in Custer, Valley, Boise, and Ada counties.  We will be home in our own beds this night!

I recommend making your lodging reservations as soon as you opt-in for this ride.  If you find the motel lodging financially prohibitive, please make arrangements for camping in Arco, Ashton, and Salmon.

Plan on bringing your swim suit.  We may take a dip at Heise Hot Springs on day 2 if time permits.

We will leave Tuesday, August 25, at 8:00 AM, from the Trolley House (1821 Warm Springs Avenue, Boise, ID 83712).  If you wish to have breakfast here prior to leaving, pleae arrive no later than 7:00 AM since they are usually quite busy and service is somewhat slow.
