Best way to three forks from the upland scenic byway?

I'm going with some friends from battle creek towards Jordan Valley this weekend.  Is the best way to hit three forks to turn off and cross Squaw Creek and and past Circle Bar Ranch?  Can you even go pask Circle Bar Ranch or is it private?  Should I cross the North Fork of the Owyhee and backtrack down Fenwick Road to the top of the canyon and ride down?  Any thought, Ive never been there.
