No Business is the last remaining Southern Idaho Timber Protective Association lookout that was originally built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s.  Those lookouts were constructed under the leadership of Harry Shellworth who started the Southern Idaho Timber Protective Association and ran it for nearly fifty years.   His idea was to build grand structures that represented permanence and presence.  Started as a camp in the 1920's, a 2-story 20x20' log and frame house was built in 1937.   A replica of the original replaced it in 1963 and is staffed during the summer.

7/21 with Ron.  A long 300 mile day.  But a real good time.  Thanks, Ron!

Photo was taken on August 31.  Because of the Mesa Fire, which got within about 6 miles of this historic lookout, the forest service completely wrapped the building and surrounding structures in a protective metal foil.  They were in the process of taking the foil down when I visited, so I did not get the opportunity to go inside.
