The original Canyon County Historical Museum is located in the historic Oregon Short Line Depot in downtown Nampa, Idaho.  Construction began in 1902 and the depot opened in September of 1903.  It served as Nampa's train depot until the Union Pacific depot on the North side of the tracks was completed in the latter part of 1925.  This building then served as offices for the Union Pacific.  The building was eventually donated to the Canyon County Historical Society by the Union Pacific Railroad.  It was partially restored and converted into a museum by the Canyon County Historical Society and dedicated July 3, 1976.

Visited this site on June 2.  Arrived at 2:55 PM, took my photo, and was about to go in to see the museum when I noted the propritor hanging up the "CLOSED" sign at 3:00 PM.  If you want to see the museum in addition to taking your photo, check out the hours of operation before you go.
