I love riding up to this Look Out. It was very cool and just got done raining. Everything smelled so clean and nice. Meet two other fellows up there so I asked one of them to take this picture for me.There is a whole lot of logging going on up there. Some of the OLD road is gone and NEW roads punched in.

I sure the hell hope this is the right peak.  I got lost for several hours getting here and it is almost dark!

Stick a fork in me...I'm done with all 48!!!   3,815 miles and I can feel every inch of it!  It was a fun series of rides that took a total of 17 days on the 'ol KLR. I saw just about every critter you can name and spent 2 nights in motels (too rainy to camp) and 10 nights camping. The rest were completed with day trips.

It would be hard for me to pick my favorite Challenge Site since there were some fantastic places that we visited. Probably the toughest ride was Sleeping Deer, Fly Creek and Yellow Jacket since it rained all day and the roads were muddy and slippery...but it was still a fun ride.  idahosam took me up on my "Post-A-Ride"  for a day and we had another good ride even though it was rainy.  The roads got pretty slimey as we slide down the switch backs to Mineral but we managed to keep the upright somehow.

The best part of the Challenge was riding with my son who traveled to Idaho and  joined me for a week...we had a GREAT time and it's something I'll remember forever. I made a few new friends and reconnected with some old ones along the way that I've not seen in years.

It's been a fun ride!

Last part of the road is pretty rocky but it was beautiful up there.  You can see all the way into the Middle Fork drainage.

Note to self:  Pay attention to the road ahead.  Gawkin' at the scenery when a deep rut comes up on you = quick dump and dirt nap.  Thankfully, I had my crash bars.
