How to Check In at a Challenge Site

By hez - Posted on 12 April 2012

Hi Guys. We are changing the way that you check in at challenge sites this year. The new method will allow you to upload one image per challenge site directly to our website, without having to do the intermediary image hosting step you're all used to by now. It will also make Challenge Administration & tracking who's checked in where a whole heck of a lot easier. I know we're all very excited and happy when technology changes (ha). If these instructions don't answer your questions, just post a comment on this message so we can answer it for everyone. Chances are if you have the question, someone else does too.

Have fun!

Check In Instructions:

Before you check in at a site, you will need to go there and take (at least) one picture of yourself. The picture should be identifiable as the challenge point in question, or at least very near it. In addition, you will need to be displaying yourself (and/or your bike), as well as this year’s Challenge T-Shirt or Bandana. Don’t worry about your helmet hair and dusty eyebrows. That is Challenge high fashion, baby! Do your best. Sometimes there are prizes at the end of the year for the best or most entertaining photographs.

Once you get back to your computer & load up your digital images from your camera (or scanner), you are ready to post them on the site.

  1. Go to www.motoidaho.com/challengesites
  2. Log in with your username and password, if you haven’t already
  3. Click on the name of the site you’ve visited
  4. Click the large “Check in at this site” link
  5. Enter a caption for your image in the “Image Caption” field (required)
  6. Click the “Choose File” button and browse to the picture (on your computer) that you took at the challenge site (required)
  7. Enter any comments you may have in the Comments box (optional)
  8. Click the “Save” button
  9. You will then see a view of the Check-In you just created. At the bottom, you will see a link back to the Challenge Site. Or, click the “Challenge Sites” link in the menu to return to the full list of sites.
  10.  Repeat steps 3-9 for each of the Challenge sites you racked up this trip.
  11. Don’t stop now. Only 44 more sites to go. Good luck!
