Level 3 rides will include rutted double track, and uneven roads. These may be rocky and difficult at times. A 1200GS or similar bike will feel heavy in this terrain, and will require an experienced rider. A moderate rider on a 650cc bike will be able to maintain 20 to 30 m.p.h. without a load. Little or no single track will be present on a level 3 ride. You may encounter moderate water crossings (less than knee high). Expect higher average speeds on easy sections of the route.

Ride Description:

I'm planning to do a ride over to Salmon and Challis to pickup the Challenge sites in those areas...  We could meet up at the Salmon River Coffee shop at 9am on Sunday morning, head out to Ulyssess , Yellowjacket and Middle Fork Peak, then finish with Leesburg. I'll then be heading back to Salmon to get my truck, load the bike and drive down to Challis to spend the night...  right now, I'm planning to camp at Challis Hot Springs Sunday night...

Ride Description:

Sorry for the late posting but that's how this year is working.  In an attempt to get several challenge points due to my time constraints this year I plan on a meandering and leisurely ride.  Current plan is 2 days up, both about 200 miles days. Day 1 hit the following challenge points: Pearl, Packer John and No Business. End the day New Meadows area. I'll probably cc camp on day 1.
