3 - Advanced Skills

Level 3 rides will include rutted double track, and uneven roads. These may be rocky and difficult at times. A 1200GS or similar bike will feel heavy in this terrain, and will require an experienced rider. A moderate rider on a 650cc bike will be able to maintain 20 to 30 m.p.h. without a load. Little or no single track will be present on a level 3 ride. You may encounter moderate water crossings (less than knee high). Expect higher average speeds on easy sections of the route.

Ride Description:

Well Ryan has school and Phil is washing and waxing his cat so I guess I'll post a ride. I had planned on putting this up last week but never got that far.  So far there is no firm plan. Weather may impact route significantly. The intentent is to hit several challenge sites () on the way up and back. The rough plan;JB's for breakfast (7ish) and leave shortly after 8:00.

See Comments Below.

I'd like to do an overnighter this weekend, if the weather will hold out for us.

This is more of a level 2 ride when it's dry... but it may be wet and muddy in places out there ~ thus the 3 rating.

I can't stress this enough ~ this is a weather contengent ride. Rain turns that place into un-ridable mud.

Cure for cabin fever

Scuba Steve, trailrider383, and I went for a ride West of the Owyhee rive today. There was more snow/mud that was suspected, so we explored the roads in the low land near the river mostly dry and dusty.
