DESCRIPTION:Meet at the Maverick at 7353 W Victory Rd\, Boise\, ID 83709. (Victory and Cole) \nThis is our annual Spring kick-off ride\, named after Idaho Sam who used to coordinate it\, out to Prairie for lunch at the Y-Stop General Store. There are no playing cards involved. Poker refers to the pace. It should be relatively easy\, Level 2 dirt roads\, and a relaxed pace with multiple butt-breaks. A great opportunity for newbies to get their feet wet and meet some people. And a good time for veterans to get warmed up\, see old friends\, and meet new ones. \nIf you’re doing the Challenge this year we’ll hit 3 sites on the ride.\n06 – Bonneville Point\n07 – Anderson Ranch Dam\n31 – Long Tom Reservoir \nWe’ll leave the gas station at 9:00AM to hopefully make it to the Y-Stop between 12:00-1:00. After lunch we take Blacks Creek Rd. back to Boise. You should be home in plenty of time for dinner. \nNow all of this is based on good weather and no mechanical failures. We have had flat tires on these rides\, but that’s always a possibility anyway. At least you’ll have plenty of friends around to help\, or watch. But as with any ride into the wilds\, be prepared. \nPlease be there well before 9:00 so we can actually leave then. And we like to do a short briefing before we go so everyone is on the same page as far as expectations.\nAbout 95 miles there and 50-60 home. Gas is usually available at the Y-Stop.

SUMMARY:Idaho Coalition for Motorcycle Safety 39th Annual Motorcycle Awareness Ride
DESCRIPTION:This is NOT an IAMC event\, but our friends over at the Idaho Coalition for Motorcycle Safety host a yearly ride to raise awareness for motorcycle safety. It is an police escorted ride from Sandy Point Park over at Lucky Peak to the Idaho State Capital. This is purely a pavement ride in a large group\, at a leisurely pace. Expect to see every type of street legal bike imaginable\, this is not limited to just street bikes. cruisers\, classics\, or adventure bikes. We are all equally vulnerable when riding on the road. In addition to helping raise safety awareness\, just the experience of riding in such a large group is worth participating in this event. \nThe ride will be followed by a BBQ at Kristen Armstrong Park and hosted by the Christian Motorcycle Association. There is no cost to attend this event\, although I’m sure donations will be accepted. \nYou can learn more about the Idaho Coalition for Motorcycle Safety here. \n \n

We are meeting at 9AM at the Chevron in Homedale. \nFrom the Forum: \nWe’ll skip the steep rocky road with water crossings down to Historic Birch Creek.  With this change\, this ride is friendly for those on medium to heavy Adventure bikes. \nWe will likely hit Succor Creek Mine Shaft\, Leslie Gulch Boat Ramp\, Birch Creek Ranch\, Coffee Pot Crater\, and Pelota Fronton\, but if any section gets too crazy for adventure bikes we will turn back. \nPlease be on time and let Dan know if you are coming. SUMMARY:Ride to site 47-48 Weather permitting Level 4 ride
DESCRIPTION:I’m looking at going and hitting challenge points 47 and 48. I will be trailering my DRZ to the gravel pit south of Bruneau Idaho. I hope to be there around 10 AM. Then riding from there. I plan to hit winter camp and then south to Indian Hot Springs. The last time I did this around this time of year it was muddy and slick\, with lots of baby heads in the trial\, as it’s mostly two tracks from the winter camp area. The drop into Indian Hot Springs is ruff with lots of loose rocks and steep grades. The route back will most likely be the big dirt road back north. The picture is my family hauler 2 years ago at Indian Hot Springs. This will be rated at a level 4 from the challenge site. The last part going down into the canyon is the worst part.
