26 – Idaho City

Idaho City is a small, historic town in southwestern Idaho. It’s located in the Boise Basin, about 36 miles northeast of Boise.

daho City was founded in 1862 during the Boise Basin gold rush, which was the largest gold bonanza since the California gold rush. The town was once the largest city in the Northwest, with over 7,000 residents. Today, Idaho City is the county seat of Boise County and is part of the Boise City−Nampa, Idaho Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Idaho City is a quaint town with a rich mining history and lots of outdoor activities. It’s also a safe location with a nostalgic feel. Attractions in Idaho City include the Boise Basin Museum.
