It’s very dry out there so be careful. nice day mid 70s.
I took the day off to knock of several outstanding challenge sites. Rode the back country byway for the first time. Rained last night, roads soupy and slippy. I was 2-up with my wife. We had a great time.
We were coming from Grandview via Mud Flat Road. Lots of dust and washboard, It’s a neat little area to visit. I also my have poped a fork seal on this ride.
The rock formation at the back of this campground is amazing
Stop two on the long gravel road skirting the south end of the Owyhees. Pleasant ride while contemplating how carniverous the plentiful Mormon crickets are.
They need to pave those twisties to the south of the campground. Seems like a waste of some good switchbacks. There was a prescribed burn in progress down by Juniper Mtn. At least that’s what the big orange sign said. Seen up close and also from about 8 miles away (photo), it sure looked like it was more than an Rx burn.
Beautiful ride on the Owhyee Uplands Backcountry Byway. Overcast and the landscape was green and lush. Day one of an overnighter with BB on our Cabin and Cemetery Tour.
Stop 4 on our overnighter out in the Owyhee/Jordan Valley/Silver City area. Hit rain on the way in on Campground is still green and the creek was running full. Road still in great condition from Grandview.
Several crickets, but only one camper. Looks like an interesting spot.
My first time here, how could I live in Idaho so long and not know this was here? Very beautiful spot, I will have to camp here sometime!
Remembered my banner this time 🙂
Stop 4 on the western ramble through Owyhee County…..I’ll be coming back for sure.
Didn’t camp but it looks like a nice place.
