Nice windy road in through rolling hills! (Level 1) Took the back way out on gravel roads (level 2)
We took Reynolds Creek Road up to the cemetery and back. It is a really fun road with lots of gentle curves and beautiful scenery.
The one cool day so far this August. This was my first time back here. Very nice ride. Looks like rain.
Easy one to pick up, Wees Ranch on the other hand is not easy to get to.
Relaxed ride with BB with some optional dirt detours added to the mix in the Hemingway Butte OHV Park.
Easy ride from Hemmingway Butte side on Reynolds Cr. Hit a bunch of off pave sections on way to destination keep things fun on the way to the cemetery. Went out Rabbit Cr road on way to Old Wees location. Rabbit creek road in great condition.
If I had read the remembered the rating of this site I wouldn't have let my GPS take me down a dirt road a couple miles prior to getting there. Must say that was a challenging side excursion but was fun so no harm done. Beautiful area on the way there. Every so often were swarms of Mormon Crickets tho. Weren't thick enough to be dangerous but were thick enough to gross you out as they popped under wheel.
Easy paved road going in. I went out Rabbit Creek Road which is fast easy gravel.
After finally bagging 46-Wees Ranch, I decided to hit Site 03-Reynolds Cemetary. Once you get back on the actual road, it's a piece of cake to ride to Reynolds and back to the Rabbit Creek Trailhead.
GPX file attached.
It was super nice out today. Its nice to see all the hill still nice and green down to Reynolds Creek Cemetery.
Fantastic ride. Enjoyed seeing the experimental station across the rode and of course all the dirt bikes at Hemingway.
Been there, done that. Went there as a part of the April 9th group ride that Alex Crane organized (thanks Alex!). This is a 1 if you take Reynolds Creek Rd....a 2 if you go in from Murphy. The road in from Murphy passes through the Black Mountain Wild Horse Herd Management Area and I was fortunate enough to see a herd of horses on this ride. I plan to go down there and check the place out more thoroughly as time permits.
I usually come up this road from Rabbit Creek trying to find an alternate route to Silver City and have always so far ended up turning around 🙂
This was the main site we hit on our group ride. Reynolds Creek Road is well paved the entire way up, so really this ride could be a 1. You could take a street bike up no problem. The roads were very clear after the big rain we have had recently. There were a couple of small sections where there was very minor washout on the road, so keep an eye out for that. Otherwise it's a nice twisty road all the way up, a great view.
From Reynolds Creek Cemetery you can go east to connect back with 78. This section of road is gravel with a few minor ruts from the recent rain. Overall it wasn't bad at all. Most of our group had larger adventure bikes.
