Description
The National Oregon/California Trail Center in Montpelier, Idaho is a worthwhile stop if you’re riding through southeast Idaho and want a deeper appreciation for the country you’re traveling through. The center features interactive exhibits that recreate scenes from the Oregon Trail, including river crossings, trading posts, and wagon travel, giving a real sense of what pioneers experienced while crossing this region. Located just off Highway 30, it makes an easy and interesting stop when riding between Bear Lake, Soda Springs, Georgetown Summit, or heading toward Wyoming. It’s a good place to stretch your legs, learn some local history, and then continue the ride through country that once saw wagon trains instead of motorcycles.
