Interesting ride in.....Took Hot Creek (HC) Rd from Hwy 20. Took the first road into it from the west (did NOT have to go through a gate of any type). Picked my way down that two-track without any issues, got to the State land and to the cave itself. Took my pictures, then took the more-established dirt track due north back to HC Rd. This is the short way, the one with the hot-wire "gate" and the barbed-wire gate at HC Rd (you know you're at the right gate when you see the Winnebago camper on the north side of HC Rd. that looks like it's right out of Breaking Bad....complete with a pair of pants hanging from the passenger's side mirror!!). This one was sketchy'er than the two-track I took into the site. Someone (State?) had disc'ed around the State land where the cave is, presumably a fire break......however they also disc'ed parts of the dirt track back to HC Rd, which made the ride out...interesting on a big bike.

As for the cave itself, it's pretty cool!

This was my Pick Your Own from last year. Last year I took the longer two track off the main dirt road coming from the north west. This time I took the shorter route from the main dirt road from the north. There are a couple gates to pass through.

Coming in from Mountain Home, there's a nice gravel road. At one point, it splits into another 2 two tracks, and it's pretty hard to spot the one you want. Once on this two-track, there are a few cows and a few choice holes to be avoided.

So if you come in from the south and east from old Oregon trail road you will get some nice two track and a bunch of cows. I crossed through two barbed wire fences and one electric fence. The road dwindles but if you stick to it, you can get all the way there. From there I went north.
