Description
Tucked along the South Fork Boise River Scenic Byway (FS Road 268) in Elmore County, southwest of Boise, Long Gulch Falls is a hidden gem for adventure motorcycle riders.
This dramatic ~85–280 ft plunge (depending on viewpoint) drops through a narrow chute beside the road near Big Fiddler Creek Falls. Dual-sport and ADV riders enjoy easy paved-to-gravel access from Mountain Home or Prairie for a quick photo stop, short walk to the viewpoint, and refreshing break amid pine-clad canyon scenery. Blink and you’ll miss the culvert crossing—pull off safely. Respect the area, pack in/pack out, and ride mindful on the scenic byway.

Stunning view, but did not see a waterfall. This was the last stop of our trip, which looks a lot like the Poker run from a week ago. We ran into a lot of cows along the way, and I got into a standoff with a herd: I think they were waiting for me to pass so they could cross the road, but I didn't want to put myself in between the larger group and the two or three that had already crossed! From Long Gulch Falls all the way to Blacks Creek Road we started to see a lot of people--mountain bikers, cowboys, UTV's, and probably a few Moto Idaho Club members hitting the same sites as us!
Great views from this spot. I've stopped here before not knowing that there was a water fall.
This was a beautiful place what with the canyon and all. The waterfall itself is pretty small and you have to get right up to the edge of the cliff to see it.
Last check-in for our prairie ride. It was a ton of fun, much thanks to Alec for organizing it! The other photo was taken just up the road.
Had to get the drone out to get this pic, and it really struggled to get back!
