25-Boise-WMA-Archery-Range

Description

Tucked in the Boise Foothills along East Highland Valley Road off ID-21 (about 9 miles from I-84), the Boise River WMA 3D Archery Range (often called the Boise WEA archery range) is a free, scenic stop for adventure motorcycle riders.

This mile-long walk-through course features 20 realistic foam animal targets in the shrub-steppe hills. Dual-sport and ADV riders near Boise or riding Hwy 21 enjoy easy paved-then-gravel access for a quick leg stretch, bow practice (if equipped), or peaceful break amid recovering foothills views. Open sunup to sundown May 1–Nov 15. Respect wildlife rules, pack in/pack out, and keep the rubber side down.

Second try on his challenge site, too. I rode up to the Archery Range parking lot on Wednesday, April 29, because the gate was open. A BLM ranger told me I couldn't take a photo until Friday, May 1 because the road was officially closed until then.

Looks like I'm 3 days early and I didn't want to leave the bike at the gate and walk the mile or so up the hill. On the plus side, it looks like the road has just been graded. I go up 21 often enough, I'll get a real pic in the summer.
