Description
Tucked in Long Valley near Donnelly in Valley County, Idaho, the historic Roseberry townsite is a peaceful detour for adventure motorcycle riders exploring the McCall/Cascade area.
Once a thriving early 1900s Finnish-American settlement with a general store, creamery, and hotel, it faded into a semi-ghost town. Today, preserved buildings, the Valley County Museum, and barn host history buffs. Dual-sport and ADV riders enjoy easy paved/gravel access off nearby routes for a quick leg-stretch, photos, and a step back into Idaho pioneer life amid scenic farmland and mountains. Respect the site and pack out what you pack in.

Properly classified this site is a difficulty 1 (all paved access from ID-55). However, I used the Council Inn (Council, ID) as a home base and went through (rather than around) the mountains via 165 / Old Cascade and 185 / No Business. These roads ranged from a well maintained flat dirt road to a rocky and loose 2-track, a difficulty 3 or thereabouts.
Neat seeing the historical site nestled in amongst other properties.
Very cool little place that I never knew was there. Go on Friday, Saturday and Sunday (1pm to 5pm I think?) for the museum experience.
Headed over here on the way back to Boise on a Lolo loop. Couldn't remember which building to take a photo in front of dang, I'll have to go back.
