Found a route around the military base. Took the trail that leads to the power lines. Then connected to the Railroad Tracks. Followed the tracks all the way to Orchard.
We tried getting there from Pleasant Valley and had to turn around. From the Freeway, it was an easy 1.
Daisy did not want to come say hi despite all my calling and complimenting. If you look closely, she was comfortably laying behind and to the left of the Potato in my picture.
Fun ride from Higby Cave to this stop, via the "Railway Route". That road along the railroad was fun in that it required me to be picky and choosy with line choices, and the concentration involved was actually enjoyable. The Potato Hotel didn't disappoint. I need to go back out there again and read the signs and take in the place a little more. This can be a "1" if you access it from the interstate at the Boise Stage Stop exit.
What can I say? It's actually an Air B&B that looks like a potato. It's actually pretty charming. Gloria, the keeper there, was super nice and let us come in for a quick tour. She even gave the group a custom potato pin!
I had battery problems and missed the Prairie Poker run group so I picked this one up on my own.
You can no longer get through the gate from Pleasant Valley, so either approach from the Freeway down Orchard, else continue down Pleasant valley Range Road to simco and back up
Super cool. I didn't know this was here and only about 5 miles off the freeway.
