Memorable Challenge Experiences 2016

2016 marked the 7th year of the IAMC Challenge. I have enjoyed the IAMC Challenge each year. It has been a good incentive for me to get out riding, and it has taken me to many places in Idaho and surrounding states that I might otherwise never have visited. Trail Braking….What’s in it for Me?

Trail braking is a technique used by virtually every MotoGP and World Superbike racer, as well as every motorcycle policeman. It is a legiSmate skill worth adding to any experienced rider’s skill set. There are more benefits to using trail braking on the street than there are on the track.

April Fool’s Ride 2017

The 3rd annual April Fools Ride was held, well, on April 1st. It was nice and sunny, the breeze was a bit chilly but at least it wasn’t snowing or blowing as it had the day before. The ride was scheduled to start after the Spring Kickoff Picnic, and attendance was very good. This was one of the largest groups I have ever ridden in. At least in the beginning …

Summer Ride Report 2017

Baumgartner Hot Springs: Alex and I wanted to get to another challenge point, but with limited time we had to come up with a route that was fast yet fun to ride.

Ride Destination: Eastern Oregon Desert

A large portion of my life has been spent in Eastern Oregon, so I have covered a lot of ground there and still have a lot left to explore. I’ll cover some of my favorites here to give you an idea of what can be found if you get off the beaten path.

Trail Food 101

This is a topic that probably has a million different opinions as everyone has different tastes (literally,) but I will just try to explain what has worked for me and some of the other basics I have seen riders use for eating on the trail. The meals I outline will work just as well for a typical weekend ride or a week-long backcountry excursion since most are not perishable.
