The Earthquake Lake Visitor Center, located 27 miles northwest of West Yellowstone, Montana, offers insights into the 1959 Hebgen Lake earthquake that resulted in the formation of Earthquake Lake. The center features interpretive displays on earthquakes, plate tectonics, and includes a working seismograph. Visitors can also view scheduled films and talks detailing the events of the earthquake.
Open seasonally from Memorial Day through September 15th, the center operates daily between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., with free admission. Amenities include restrooms, a bookstore operated in partnership with Yellowstone Forever, and a walking path leading to the Memorial Boulder that honors the 28 victims of the earthquake.

The center was closed for the season, but I really enjoyed riding around the two lakes there.
Although the Interpretive center is closed for the season, it was a beautiful and interesting place to visit.
Fell in love with the Henry’s lake area. Sad story but good learning experience. Note the standing dead trees in the middle of the river on the approach. The power of Mother Nature is humbling.
I drove by here in 2023 but didn't have time to stop. It was good to be able to come here again to see the visitor center.
2nd site that was closed today. Oh well I've read the signs here many times. Still a good look at the slide and the big horn sheep were sunning right in the roadway. If you get here I would suggest continuing around Hebgen lake and down to West Yellowstone

Neat place! Also the furthest site from home.
Nice view and pleasant scenery on the ride there.
Beautiful views all around!

Lots of jology. Great spot for a break.
I got this site on Alec’s 3 day 1300 mile ride last one for day 2.
There is a sad story attached to this site. Easy ride in.
