Maintained hardpack gravel road. Beautiful gorge with steep walls and loads of cool rock formations.
Great day to get out in the desert, hot and dry like I like 🙂 Actually had some decent sized fish under the bridge.
We left Caldwell on Ustick, drove to Homedale to get my bike some gas so I could hopefully make it to Succor Creek and Leslie Gulch in one trip since my gas tank only holds 1.4 gallons of gas. It was a beautiful day for a ride. Not as many people out as I was expecting but we did meet a few nice people at the camp ground and a rowdy party group in side by sides. Then we headed to Leslie Gulch.
Went in with a phone flashlight and was surprised that it did little to nothing to provide any light inside. Supah dark.
The first part of the ride to Leslie Gulch and its spectacular.. Will do this again!
There was a few campers over in the area that I belive were part of the Upside down pineapple club. I stayed near the road and took my photo for this one.
First time going to Succor Creek mine shaft. Went inside to the end, not nearly as deep as I was expecting.
I stopped here once before years back with my family exploring the area in my FJ Cruiser. This time, a little girl camping nearby came over to warn us about all the bats in the mine shaft. We didn't see any bats, just some muffins someone left behind.
Wonderful ride in the canyon on smooth gravel. Smooth sailing! Lots of wind, but the canyon offered a bit of protection. The creek is running high. Nice campground for future reference. Terrific scenery!
We got a little wet with a few rain showers not to bad, watch out for road graders.
Small reprieve from the wind down in the Succor Cr canyon. Fun visiting the campground and the mine. Adit is very short; you can see light from the back of the shaft. Cellphone light is sufficient to keep from hitting your head. Creek is running high and the grass is still green.
Great spring, canyon, gravel ride. looked to be another mineshaft just north of this one. Kinda shocked they aren't boarded up. The creek had a fair amount of water in it. Will have to do this one again.
Great ride on dirt road. Was freshly graded so road has large amount of loose gravel. Watch for traffic. Busy place.
Nice gravel road. A few blind corners, watch out for “traffic” headed to the few campgrounds along the way.
First stop on Dan's ride, with Alex, Ed, Jeff, Lucas. Pretty easy ride in with the fresh graded road. Some puddle crossings in the low spots but nothing difficult.
The mine shaft goes back a ways so if you are into that kind of thing, bring a flashlight. A pair of road graders were working the road as we came in, so we rode in some fresh-spread gravel that was a bit "skiddery". This is an easy ride if you are used to riding gravel.
Dan Huff organized this ride, and it was a blast. We started in Homedale and came down Succor Creek Road. It was freshly graded and a little loose, so use caution. I would would rate it a 2.4. The view coming down that road is amazing, I can't believe I've never been down this one before. Take your time and enjoy the scenery!
I finally got out to do some sites today. great ride with come great guys. It was a little busy for a Wednesday.
What a cool place. I had never been here before and will come back with fishing gear. The creak was super high. Also wish I would have had some flashlights to go into the cave further.
Definitely had to pay close attention to the gps to stop at the right time due to the excitement of starting our adventure. Awesome place in every way, though we had a lot of miles to cover that day so we didnt hang around much. Will come back to explore in depth. Road in is easy, but first mile or so had a lot of golfball sized gravel that was loose. Cleared up after that though.
Cool little spot that you could miss if you weren't paying attention. This was the first site we hit on a two day adventure to get to as many as possible so we didn't spend too much time here. Mellow ride on dirt/gravel roads.
This was an interesting ride. Succor Creek Rd was a new one to me. Tons of people out there on this beautiful Saturday...lots of side-by-sides. The first mine shaft I saw was way up there on the cliffside but didn't match the GPS pin, so I continued on and found the pinned one, which was much more accessible from the road. I did not go in too far, only to the first bend in the tunnel. I want to go back there with more time and explore both tunnels. Pretty neat place. If 2 is an easy dry dirt/gravel road then this is a 2.

Finally made it out there. Awesome ride!

Cool place I liked all the rocky peaks
Didn’t go in too far will bring a flash light next time
Memorial Day ride
Beautiful ride in. Everything is still green.
Nice ride through Succor Creek area
We went a little way into the mine, I never knew this was here!
Cool place to visit, not sure I’d want to go too far down the mine.
Another good spot I need to spend more time at.

How far way was the pin from where you took that picture? That’s where the pin should be. I’m looking into it to find out whats going on
I was on the pin. Here’s a screen shot of my gps track.
Here is the gps track itself. I used Gaia GPS. I hope it comes through okay.
