I have two KTMs - KTM 390 Adventure R (for Off-road riding) and a 2024 KTM 1290 Super Adventure S (for Road Riding). I started riding at 14 on a Ducati 250 Manza stripped down for dirt with a bash plate aluminum fenders and knobbies (and zero suspension travel ;-). After my first girl was born in 1985, I took 18yrs off from riding. In 2003, I came back to riding & bought a used ‘00 Honda VFR800 with 5800mi on it. I had trouble keeping up with my buddy on his 900 Ninja, so a year later, I sold the VFR, & bought a Honda CBR929RR, proving it wasn’t the bike, it was me that couldn’t keep up. The 929 was miserably uncomfortable after 45 minutes, so I took it to an auto upholstery place, added lots of padding, & added 1 tooth to the front sprocket turning it into a killer sport touring bike! In 5 days, my dad and I rode from San Jose to Carson City to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, & back, & I fell in love with Idaho. 15 years & 6 Triumphs later, I moved to Idaho for good. After dropping my triumph one too many times on top of me, I switched to something lighter & settled on KTM390 Adventure R for Dirt.
