Distance is ~840 miles from my place in Nampa.
Day 1: Mostly highway, picking up Galena. It would be 290 miles to Burns if taking it easy.
Lunch & gas in John Day, gas & dinner in Burns.

Day 2: First light start - Hampton Butte + East Rim Overlook to Fields. 330 miles. Fields is the only place to eat on the way and it closes at 4pm. Gas is also ridiculously expensive there, and the next gas stop would be in Jordan Valley, which is at least 230 miles from Burns, so it would be wise to fill up an Armadillo or RotoPax when leaving Burns just to make sure you make it to Jordan Valley.
Day 3, the remaining sites around the Alvord. Plus, obviously, a quick blast on the playa if it's not wet. Lunch TBD (Rome is closed

Either camping or credit card camping. Stops would be around Burns on day 1 and between Fields Station and Mann Lake on day 2.
I'd prefer credit card camping: Day 1 at the Silver Spur Motel in Burns, then either Fields Station (preferred), Alvord Hot Springs, or Mann Lake. I will also take camping gear regardless.
