Murphy's tire lube is the slickest dope for lubing the bead that I've ever used. I highly recommend the stuff.

I have a tire changing stand but it doesn't include a bead breaker lever. So, I purchased the 16" forged steel Motion Pro Bead Breaker tire irons. They work great, although very expensive, about $65.

To help keep the tire bead in the drop down channel while spooning on the new tire, I use a few 3/4" x 3/4" x 5" wood pieces I push in between the rim and the tire bead. I'd like to know how you Keep the bead in the drop down channel. I tried the zip tie method but failed because the big adventure tire is too big and too stiff to pull the beads close together.

I have the Mitas Enduro Trail + rear tire on my R1250 GSA. At 6100 miles, I changed out the old tire for a new one just like it. The Motion Pro Bead Breaker tool worked easily on the first try.
