Yesterday I rode my motorcycle. I knew it was going to be a hot day, but it proved otherwise.

Later in July, some friends and I are planning to do some camping up near Cuddy Mtn, so I decided to scope it out and grab a couple challenge sites along the way. I headed up from Kuna through Emmett and continued on along dirt roads to get South Crane School. From there I continued north, jumping on hwy 95 east of Cambridge. Next up was Peck Mtn. It was only about 1.5 miles from the pavement with one gate to go through, and it was a beautiful view looking back down on Council. Afterwards I headed up Cuddy Mtn. It was clear of snow for about 10-11 miles up. I struggled through lots of puddles, mud, and small snow drifts, boondocking it around the bigger snow drifts until the turn off to the top of Cuddy Mtn. There was just too much snow to continue on. It was plenty cool all morning and up Cuddy Mtn. It started getting hot as I went down and the afternoon carried on. I decided to head home through Indian Valley down to Ola and Sweet since I have never been out there. As soon as it got hot, the clouds moved in and the wind picked up. I saw a lot of lightening. The wind grew so strong that I was only going about 10mph trying to see through the dust and keep the bike on the rode. Then the rain started. I got drenched, but by the time I reached Sweet, the rain had stopped and I dried out before reaching home. What was expected to be a fairly simple ride home on a very easy, wide, graded gravel road became an adventure in itself.
