So I've been using GAIA for about 4 years now, and it's been pretty good. It does many things extremely well, but the downfall of it is it's method for handling folders. It's horrendous. It's not bad when you only have a few tracks and waypoints, but after 4 or 5 years of doing the challenge, and despite my best folder management it's just getting unbearable. Every once in a while my phone decides to show everything. All of my waypoints, tracks, proposed routes, etc just show up and there is no good way to hide everything at once. So I'm wondering...what is everyone else using? If GAIA can't fix this issue than I think I might need to spend my $40/yr somewhere else. My map is useless to me if it's so cluttered. I could delete old stuff, and it does have an archive function, but for the life of me I don't understand why you can't hide all of the archived folders.

Hi Alex,

I’ve been using Scenic for several years, and It has been my favorite for street riding. It does ok for off road if it recognizes the trail. So far I’ve gotten buy with it. I really like that I can download maps for entire states and not just my area or routes like some other apps I’ve tried. The organization is simple and straightforward for me. My favorite bit is how easy it is to reroute a track on the fly from the phone… no cell service needed because I have the entire state downloaded. There are also a lot of options on how it should behave in certain situations. The big downside is that it doesn’t yet have web based route planning and it only works on IOS. Both items Scenic says they are working on. One has to use a different webapp like Google My Maps or something that can generate a GPS file. Then from the Scenic webapp you can send the file to your account and open it on your phone. I am also interested in what other people are using.
