@dan-huff I have yet to reach the honorable status of "retired and on the road" so I'm limited to weekend warrier stuff and already committed to another road ride this weekend. apologies for not picking up on your dates stated in the original post until now. please share your report, i'm interested in hearing how it goes.
Road: R1250RT
Dirt: 690 Enduro R
Meet at 9:00 AM on Wednesday the 24th at the Chevron station in Homedale and top off your fuel. We'll skip the steep rocky road with water crossings down to Historic Birch Creek. With this change, this ride is friendly for those on medium to heavy Adventure bikes.
I'm pretty sure I can make this, Dan I will send you a message. Looking forward to this. I was trying to plan something similar.
We will include the Historic Birch Creek Ranch on our ride Wednesday. I've been there a couple of times on my old DRZ 650 and I know I've ridden a lot harder stuff on my KTM 890 R (Colorado BDR). We'll watch out for each other and get everyone through.
Hello, I would like to join you on Wednesday. I am on a Tenere 700, been riding it for about a year. Sounds like something I should be able to do, especially with some veterans around to help me out. Thanks!
Hello Lucas - glad to have you along. Give me a call when you can at 509.952.0290.
What a great time! Conditions were perfect, no flats and no breakdowns. There was a scraped elbow on one of our seasoned veterans who will not be named here to protect his honor. His T7 came through with no damage. The vastness of the Owyhees cannot be grasped until you've spent a few 230 miles down there and know that you've barely scratched the surface of what the Owyhees has to offer.
Attached is the GPX file for this ride.
