The Owyhee Uplands Back Country Discovery Route starts in Homedale and ends in Jarbidge. I created the 1st draft of the route and the next step is to ride the route and make changes and improvements. The track needs to be reasonably doable for an intermediate rider on a GS 1250 or Africa Twin, although I ride a KTM 890R. Point is, I'm looking for ADV riders to join me when we get past the snow and "gumbo" season. Although not required, it would be really great to ride with someone with good local knowledge of the area.

It was great talking to you today, Dan. Do you have a GPX file for your proposed route? I could see myself joining you for a stretch of that. I'm sure we could round up a few others as well. There are also quite a few challenge checkpoints that we could hit on the way if some detours were acceptable. Would love to see the route you are thinking.

Here are the gpx files. Keep in mind that these tracks are 1st draft form and haven't been fully proven yet. I have ridden the tracks to Jordan Valley but little beyond there.

I'm looking forward to the ride.

As a note, I was going to include PDF files showing the Roadbooks but PDF files are not allowed in Forums.

Cool! I will look at these in the morning.

I think PDF files are turned off by default, but I can enable them to be uploaded. I'll do it tomorrow.

Dan,

PDF files are turned on, but users with less than 3 posts can't upload certain file types as a security measure. You should be able to post a PDF file now. Let me know if you still have problems. -Alex

The track is 305 miles one way so it will take two days to get to Jarbige. I figure we camp at Owyhee North Fork Campground on the way and stay the night at Jarbige.

Here it is in google maps:

I could be tempted to join you depending on when it is.

The forest road from Jarbridge to Wild Horse is also worth doing - the red circle is Jarbridge. The ride back up 255/51 however is pretty boring.

I'm looking for a few Adventure Riders to come with me to on-the-ground verify the north part of the Owyhee Updands Back Country Discovery Route (see details in Forums). Along the way we'll complete check-ins 24 Succor Creek, 23 Leslie Gulch, 10 Birch Creek Ranch, 09 Coffee Pot Crater, and 39 Pelota Fonton. By the time we get to Jordan Valley, we'll have traveled 150 miles so gas-up in Jordan Valley for the long old grind north on Hwy 95 back home. For those of you interested in Roadbook Navagation, come along and I'll teach you what I know. On the ride, I'll film for my YouTube Channel "Daniel Huff Adventures". I'll work with the group to pin down the exact day for this Adventure. I'm thinking any day between the 19th and 26th. I want to ride the Sam's Prairie Poker Run on the 27th. Send me a message if you are interested.

@dan-huff That looks like a lot of fun. I will keen an eye on my schedule and see how stuff shakes out as the time gets nearer. If I can make it I'd love to go.

This sounds like an awesome plan.  Have you picked a start day yet?  Also wondering where you want to meet up?

Meet up at Chevron, 101 E Idaho Ave, Homedale, ID. We still need to nail down the date for the ride. I'm flexible and want to choose a day that works for other members too. I'd like to do this ride next week and also do the Sam's Prairie ride.
